I guess Cadillac decided on a late debut because I saw this on their site around midnight PST. From what I read on a few sites, its touted as the Escalade’ s little brother. But its a 3 row crossover nonetheless.
As expected, it rides on the same platform as the Acadia and Enclave and is powered by a a 310 horse 3.6 V6 with cylinder deactivation. That gets routed to fwd or awd through a 9 speed auto.
Inside its just grownup XT5 which is...cool I guess? Anyway, there are 2 trims to choose from: Premium Luxury which gets things like exotic interior wood trim and distinct 20" wheels; and Sport, which gets carbon fiber trim, the usual Black exterior trim and grill, 20" wheels and a unique awd system Cadillac describes as Sport Controlled twin-clutch which !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! describes as: a twin-clutch electrically controlled rear differential that can be disconnected or apply torque to the individual rear wheels to enhance cornering, and continuously adaptive dampers.
No word on pricing yet, but honestly I find it a bit of a let down. Its design for one is an amalgam of other vehicles on the market. I see everything in it from Mitsubishi’s Outlander in the front fascia , to Kia’s still unreleased Telluride in the side and rear. Not to mention it should resemble the Escalade more than the smaller XT5 in the design, which it has too much of. The dash is damn near a cookie cutter design from the XT5. But there you have it, another crossover. What do you guys think of it?

Maybe in person or better quality pics it’ll look better, but so far I think it looks like a rejected Ford Explorer refresh. It’s just so... generic.

Man. Cadillac did so well design-wise for a while, but with a few exceptions (ats-v, Escalade) it seems like they've decided to just make everything bland.

This is the most forgettable new car I’ve seen in a while.
Cadillacs should be anything but forgettable.

To this I say large levels of ‘meh’ and shrugs.

Doesn’t say anything to me. It’s not beefy, it’s not elegant, it’s not avant-gardist. It’s not anything.
The interior looks like grandma’s living room. Entry level interiors from Mercedes and Lexus look years ahead.

That Mercedes interior is awful.

When I first scrolled though I thought that bottom pic was the new Explorer.
Also can I tell you that I hate the kickup on the rear 3/4 window. Would it be that hard to just get a classy level belt line?

Looks like a cheaper equivalent GMC vehicle inside and out. Competition is going to be tough to crack.

based on appearance, I’d choose the new Blazer over this. This thing looks like it’s built on the 1st gen Traverse/Acadia/Enclave bits. Something very base model looking about it...not good when the other GM counterparts are all more attractive and modern looking.
Don’t look now, but Lincoln’s new Nautilus is likely to pu t them squarely on track to better Cadillac in sales.

It looks boring and generic. Specifically, it lo oks like a Honda Pilot. I’ll take the Lincoln Aviator instead.

I mean, I like it?
It’s not bad by any means. They probably have to make these to stay afloat and they seem to be doing it reluctantly.
They’re dreaming of making luxury sedans, coupes and convertibles as seen from their concepts. I’d much rather have the ciel and that other concept come to production too.
Mazda and Porsche are the only companies that got make crossovers I like.
